Visit 29 Palms Events Program Review Committee
Visit 29 Palms is seeking three at-large members to serve on the FY 2026–27 Events Program Review Committee and support the independent review and scoring of Events Program funding applications. The five-member Review Committee consists of two Visit 29 Palms TBID Advisory Board members serving on the Events Subcommittee and three at-large members. At-large members may include Visit 29 Palms TBID stakeholders, 29 Palms business owners, and engaged members of the 29 Palms community.
Role of the Review Committee
The Review Committee plays an important role in the Visit 29 Palms Events Program by independently reviewing and scoring eligible funding applications using the program’s established scoring criteria. Applications must receive a minimum score of 32 out of 40 points (80%) to advance to the Visit 29 Palms TBID Advisory Board for funding consideration.
FY 2026–2027 Funding Cycles
Review Committee members will participate in two application and review cycles:
Round One: Applications due October 1, 2026
Round Two: Applications due April 1, 2027
Committee Commitment
Review Committee members independently review and score eligible applications during each funding cycle. The time commitment will vary based on the number and complexity of applications received; members should anticipate approximately 5–20 hours of independent review per funding cycle.
Members appointed for FY 2026–27 should be prepared to participate in both funding cycles and meet all established review and scoring deadlines.
Eligibility & Conflict of Interest
To support a fair and impartial review process, Review Committee members may not apply for Events Program funding during their term of service.
Members are also ineligible to serve if they have an employer/employee relationship or a close familial relationship — spouse, parent, or child — with an applicant seeking funding during the same application cycle.
Review Committee members must disclose any other personal, professional, financial, or organizational relationship with an applicant that could represent, or reasonably be perceived as, a potential conflict of interest. Potential conflicts must be disclosed to TBID staff prior to reviewing or scoring the application.
Public Process
As part of the TBID’s public funding review process, each Review Committee member’s completed scorecards are included in TBID Advisory Board meeting materials and become part of the public record.
