About Us

The City of Twentynine Palms Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) was established and branded as Visit 29 Palms in 2017 under the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989, whose goal and objective is to promote growth in travel and tourism in Twentynine Palms.

Formed through a public-private partnership between the City of Twentynine Palms local government and the lodging operators and owners within the city, the Visit 29 Palms TBID is funded entirely by the revenue generated by a self-assessed 1.5% tourism fee that is levied and collected at all lodging properties within the TBID district. The TBID district is defined by the 58 square-mile boundary of the incorporated City of Twentynine Palms, and includes all lodging properties within it, including hotels, motels, RV resorts, and short-term vacation rentals.

The Visit 29 Palms TBID is managed by a 5-member advisory board, appointed by City Council, who represent the district’s diverse lodging industry, and who oversee the development and execution of an annual tourism marketing plan and budget. Under the 1989 Law, the TBID renews annually and operates on the Federal government fiscal calendar which runs October 1 through to September 30.
