Many of these experiences are supported through the Visit 29 Palms Sponsorship & Event Grant Program, which helps bring new creative programming to the city while attracting visitors from across the region.

Hi-Desert Lo-Fi Lit Weekend
March 20–22, 2026 | Multiple Venues
From the team behind Bombay Beach Lit Fest comes a three-day literary and music gathering set across several venues throughout Twentynine Palms. This all-free, DIY-spirited festival features approximately 80 writers, musicians, filmmakers, and artists participating in readings, performances, workshops, and conversations. Programming will take place at venues including The Palms of Wonder Valley, Z Club, Hi-Desert Times, Very Very, and Tin Town.
29 Palms Rotary Club Carnival
March 19-22, 2026 | Luckie Park
A beloved community tradition, the annual Rotary Club Carnival brings classic rides, games, and family-friendly fun to Twentynine Palms each spring. With colorful attractions, festive energy, and activities for all ages, the carnival is a cheerful way to experience the community during the season.
Mojave Experience
March 20–21, 2026 | Mojave Gold & Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground
The Mojave Experience is a two-day desert music and culture festival celebrating the free-spirited legacy of High Desert creative culture. Founded by longtime desert resident Patrick Brink, the festival draws inspiration from early generator parties and desert rock gatherings. Sixteen bands spanning psychedelic, heavy, and exploratory rock will perform across two venues, with Friday’s kickoff indoors at Mojave Gold and Saturday’s outdoor festival unfolding under the stars at Joshua Tree Lake.
Theatre 29 presents Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella
March 28 – April 12, 2026 | Theatre 29
Theatre 29 presents Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, a lively Broadway adaptation of the classic fairytale featuring beloved songs such as “In My Own Little Corner” and “Ten Minutes Ago.” Follow Ella as she rises above the challenges of her home life with courage, kindness, and the help of her magical Fairy Godmother in this timeless story of hope and transformation.
Levitt AMP Twentynine Palms Music Series
April 4–May 2, 2026 | Freedom Plaza
A new three-year concert series kicks off this spring at Freedom Plaza, bringing five weeks of free, live music to Twentynine Palms. Held Saturday evenings, the Levitt AMP Music Series features a diverse lineup of artists spanning folk, country, funk, R&B, Celtic rock, and Americana. With opening acts, headliners, food vendors, and a family-friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to experience live music under the desert sky.
Hi-Desert Comedy Campout
April 10–11, 2026 | The Palms Restaurant
The Hi-Desert Comedy Campout transforms The Palms into a weekend-long creative playground featuring stand-up, improv, sketch comedy, theatre, short films, and more. While the name nods to camping, the spirit of the event is about being “camped out” all weekend enjoying performances and connecting with fellow comedy fans in one of the High Desert’s most iconic gathering spots.
Desert Fringe Theatre & Cultural Arts Festival
April 17–19, 2026 | Multiple Venues
The Desert Fringe Theatre and Cultural Arts Festival brings three days of experimental theatre, music, visual art, and workshops to venues throughout Twentynine Palms, including Theatre 29, the Glass Outhouse Art Gallery, and the 29 Palms Farmers Market. Designed to showcase original and non-traditional work, the festival highlights artists from the region and beyond while creating space for creative collaboration and community engagement.
All Summers Eve Desert Rendezvous
May 1–3, 2026 | The Palms
Now in its twelfth year, the All Summers Eve Desert Rendezvous has become a beloved High Desert tradition. Hosted at The Palms, the gathering blends music, performance, and community celebration for a weekend that’s equal parts mysterious, magical, and unforgettable. Cosmic Connections with NASA Scientists beneath the Desert Sky
May 9 & June 6, 2026 | Sky’s The Limit Observatory & Nature Center
Sky’s The Limit Observatory and Nature Center hosts the Cosmic Connections with NASA Scientists beneath the Desert Sky series, a special program curated by Dr. Gary Blackwood (NASA/JPL, retired) that brings leading scientists and astronomy experts to Twentynine Palms for engaging evenings of science and stargazing.
Held just outside the North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, these programs combine fascinating talks about the universe with opportunities to experience the Mojave Desert’s remarkably dark night skies.
On May 9, astronomer Dr. Eric Mamajek presents Extreme Exoplanets: A Tour of “Strange New Worlds” Orbiting Other Stars, exploring the remarkable diversity of planets discovered beyond our solar system.
On June 6, Stars of the Zodiac: Science & Sky Lore blends modern astronomy with cultural storytelling before a laser-guided constellation tour beneath the desert night sky.
29 Palms 10-Minute Play Festival
May 16–17, 2026 | The Palms
The 29 Palms 10-Minute Play Festival returns with a dynamic showcase of original short plays performed twice over the course of the weekend. Featuring a mix of humor, drama, and experimental storytelling, the festival highlights both local desert playwrights and emerging theatrical voices.
