The City of Twenytnine Palms is following the guidance of the San Bernardino County Health Department, the California Department of Public Health, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

National Parks and Preserves
Joshua Tree National Park – Modified Operations
Joshua Tree National Park is modifying operations to support federal, state, and local efforts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and is working to increase access in a phased approach. As of May 18, 2020, park entrances, roads, parking lots, trails, and family campsites are open. Visitor Centers and group campsites remain closed. For more information please visit: www.nps.gov/jotr
Mojave National Preserve – Modified Operations
Due to the shelter in place order, all visitor centers, campgrounds, restrooms, the Lava Tube and the Zzyzx area are currently closed. Please travel only when necessary. Pioneertown Mountains Preserve – Open
Pioneertown Mountains Preserve is open to the public, however Chaparrosa Peak Trail is closed, as are public restrooms. For more information please visit: www.wildlandsconservancy.org/preserve_pioneertown.html
Big Morongo Canyon Preserve – Open
As of June 25, 2020 the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve has reopened, and is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Please maintain physical distancing, and expect some of the trails to be one-way only at this time. For more information please visit: www.bigmorongo.org/
