As part of the Workshop29 series, artist and composer Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs leads a two-part music and singing workshop with High Desert Choir, a free collaborative choir, to help get out the vote! Participants will learn vocal technique, original music, and collective improvisation. Two-hour workshops take place on Sunday, January 28, and Sunday, February 4, and culminate in a performance at the 29 Palms Farmers Market on Saturday, February 17, in partnership with VOTE Morongo Basin.
All voices are welcome: there is no audition and no performance/singing experience is required.
The first music and singing workshop will take place on Sunday, January 28 at 2 p.m. at the Twentynine Palms Community Center located at 6547 Freedom Way. The second workshop will take place on Sunday, February 4 at 2 p.m. The writing workshop is part of the Workshop29 event series, which is hosted by the Art In Public Places committee administered by the Public Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC).
