The 43rd Annual Morongo Basin Search & Rescue Desert Run is a 4-wheel drive course between 35-40 miles long with five game-playing stations. You will encounter some rocks, sandy washes, hills, and some extreme areas for the hardcore enthusiast. If you don’t feel comfortable with an obstacle, they will direct you to the easy way around. The Desert Run is held at Means Dry Lake in Johnson Valley, CA. This event will have plenty of family fun and a course sure to please everyone. Last year, Morongo Basin Search and Rescue (MBSAR) gave away over $10,000 in prizes! MBSAR is a non-profit volunteer organization with the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department. The profit from the event is used to purchase new equipment and training for the unit.

The actual “run” this year is on Saturday, October 7, but MBSAR members will be preparing for this popular event weeks in advance. They have the whole weekend planned for your enjoyment!

This is the 43rd Annual Desert Run, and it looks to be the best “run” ever!

This is a family event, not a race, and all types of 4-wheel drive vehicles / ATVs / UTVs /  Dirt Bikes / “Buggies” & “Rat Rods” are encouraged to show up to participate. The event takes place on and around the famous Means Dry Lake off Hwy. 247 in the BLM Johnson Valley OHV Area. Just think “King of the Hammers,” but on a small, friendly, and local level. So, pack up for an off-road camping weekend and join in the fun!
