Theatre 29 proudly announces the premiere performance of their new resident improvisational troupe, “Rotating Players Improv”.

Improv is short for improvisation; a spontaneous ensemble theatre art form where the performers incorporate real time suggestions from audience members with rather hilarious results.

If you’re familiar with the TV show, “Who’s Line is it Anyway” then you get the idea. A group of quick-witted comics play fun games where they quickly become different characters and make up the lines along the way, with skits, props, songs, and more.

The troupe is “controlled” by host and games moderator Liyan McNeltier who decides who plays each game and fields suggestions from audience members. The troupe includes Desert Theatre League multi-award winning Hi-Desert local performers Jericho McNeltier, Graham Cooley, Benjamin Bees and Charles Harvey.

As their namesake suggests, performances may “rotate” in additional “players” such as a selected improv workshop student and a featured mainstage performer from an upcoming Theatre 29 production.

This highly anticipated inaugural performance takes place Saturday, February 11th at 7:00pm. Theatre 29 is located at 73637 Sullivan Road in the City of Twentynine Palms. Tickets are $10 each and are available now online at theatre29.org or by calling (760) 361-4151. Come play with us!

Theatre 29 rings in the new year with a special one-man show by local actor, writer, director, musician, and artist Kevin Bone.

Company policies. They exist to help a business maintain a safe and efficient working environment, and better achieve its goals. But what happens when company policy seems to stand in the way of basic, decent humanity? When compassion seems to get pushed aside “because there’s a business to run”? In his new solo-performance play, “Kate’s Last Dance”, Kevin Bone navigates through this tug-of-war with personal experiences that might bring up the question, “what would YOU do?”

Theatre 29 will be hosting this unique original one-man show in the new year. In this work. “KATE’S LAST DANCE”, actor/writer Kevin Bone of Wonder Valley portrays 16 unique characters who help him weave together two tales of compassion that, together, present the question: “when does one push aside the rules to serve a more humanitarian purpose?”
