Join host Jenny Zigrino for this month’s Hi-Desert Comedy at Kitchen in the Desert – bringing LA’s best comedians to the hi-desert! This month’s line-up features Carmen Morales, Mateen Stewart, and Mike Glazer.
Carmen Morales has a captivating style that incorporates opinionated quick wit and outlandish ideals. Taking form family, friends, and people from everyday encounters, she transforms personal experiences into hilarious commentary, which leaves the audience doubled over in laughter. With a perfect combination of assertiveness, like-ability, and vulnerability, she has been well received by audiences internationally. She’s been seen on HBO, Showtime, IFC, Freeform, Hulu, and The World Famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles regularly. She’s also headlined the San Diego Comedy Festival, Altercation Comedy Festival, Scruffy City Comedy Festival, and been featured in the New York Times. She has produced her own traveling comedy show and performed in comedy clubs, colleges, military bases, strip malls, indie shows, dive bars, and towns no one has heard of across the country.
Mateen Stewart is a standup comedian born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, before moving to Los Angeles, California. He attended Florida A&M University, where he majored in theater. Mateen has appeared on screens with Ben Stiller and Ken Marino and played the token “Black Guy” in a national McDonald’s commercial. He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
Mike Glazer has performed and written for HBO’s Emmy-nominated Night of Too Many Stars, Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America, truTV’s Billy on the Street, Comedy Central, Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco, Funny or Die, UCB Theatre, and Second City Chicago. Glazer’s 420-friendly live show Glazed is a Rolling Stone “Best Bet,” he was named a 40 Under 40 Rising Cannabis Star and starred in BuzzFeed’s hit series High Guys. Glazer has also cooked with Gordon Ramsay and won gold as a roller hockey goalie for Team USA. In both cases, he was yelled at a lot.
