Basic Information
Normally used by the Chamber for Board meetings, this small conference room has a white board for note taking and access from the outside. Staff can help you find a caterer. Restaurants and lodging within driving distance. Accomodates 10-20 people comfortably.
Nice meeting space for small groups. There are chairs and tables to seat 40. There are no kitchen facilities or catering abilities. Not available until after 12:00pm.
Built in 1928 by miners Les & Hazel Spell on 15 secluded acres near the Joshua Tree National Park, the AAA approved Homestead Inn offers six comfortable rooms witha sweeping panoramic view of the desert landscape. Catering is arranged and menus are available.
This graceful church is a town landmark. North wall graced by The Sun Rise Mural. Non-profits, community groups and private functions - no commercial use. Popular so book early. Three meeting rooms. The largest (1440 sq ft) has a stage, can accommodate up to 150 seated for dinner. The rustic classroom appropriate for youth activities. The lounge has a 12' table with 12 chairs, 2-sofas. Full kitchen for food preparation or catering. Has speakers, microphones, TV/VCR, 2 screens, & DSL access. Outside has unshaded meeting areas. Restaurants and lodging within driven distance.
The Old School House classroom was built in 1927. By 1945 there were three classrooms serving 90 students. In 1990 the Old School House was moved to its present location and refurbished into a Museum. Today there is the classroom, exhibit hall, and a gift shop. The Old School House is the oldest public building still in use in the Morongo Basin. The classroom can seat up to 20 with tables. Restroom facilities are available. There is a small kitchen with microwave, coffee pot, and mini refrigerator. There is no audio visual equipment.
This generous sized pleasant room has a conference table with 17 chairs. There is a special request form. Bring chairs for seating beyond 17. The room can be accessed from the outside and is handicapped accessible. Walls can be used as a screen for pictures and the blinds close for a dark room.
The 3 story Roughley Manor was built in 1928 of native stone with Vermont maple flooring throughout. There are 9 rooms (2 are suites) all with private baths and kitchenettes, accommodating 18 guests. The two suites are located the main house and the others in buildings located on the spacious (28 acres) and beautiful grounds. The Great Room for common gatherings is 22 x 50 feet. A large screen and internet access is available.
Recreational Hall, part of the original Smith's Ranch and inspiration for "Good Times at Smith's Ranch" mural #19. Large 1940's building with 6500 sq. ft. for dining and dancing. Room has a stage and 22' high ceiling. Meals are catered, no kitchen facilities. Lodging and restaurants within driving distance.
Stand alone building with large airy room and non-commercial kitchen facilities with ovens, steam table, and commercial refrigerator. Has an outdoor area with picnic tables and convenient parking. 3500 sq. ft. for 150+ people; chairs and tables for 200. Has speakers and microphone with separate raised area for a band. No cooking on site but can arrange for catering. 21 villas. Each sleeps four with full kitchen, patio w/BBQ. Full size 9 hole golf course adjacent.
Recently refurbished building has generous sized, well-lit rooms. Lucky Park, across the street to the east, available for lunch breaks. Plan ahead since use is dependent on availability and the space is heavily scheduled with City Parks & Recreation classes. Minmal kitchen facilities for caterers to use. There are 100+ chairs, 7 rectangular tables, and 12 round tables. You will need to provide your own audiovisual equipment. Restaurants and lodging within driving distance.
Historic Inn located on the west end of the Oasis of Mara. There are 24 cabins, some adobes; others wood frame and 80 acres of desert. Center stage is the pond surrounded by native Washingtonian Fan Palms and the garden which supplies seasonal fruits and veggies to dining guests. Pool, restaurant, and bar. Tented area. Irene's Adobe perfect for small retreats. 100 chairs, round and rectangular tables. Sound equipment, DSL access, video projector, computer with Power Point, screens. Full kitchen and staff will cater functions on site. Additional lodging within driving distance.
Nice classroom meeting space in the newly refurbished building. All non-profits not sponsored by the Friends of the Library must have a $1 million insurance policy. 730 square feet with 30 chairs and 5-6' tables. No kitchen facilities but catering is okay. Library is adjacent to park with lawn and trees.
Centrally located civic building is adjacent to a grassy park and the library. There is a facilities use form. City Council Chambers hold up to 50 people and is equipped with audiovisual equipment including DSL line, TV/VCR, video projector, screen, speakers, and microphone. No kitchen facilities but can make coffee.
Theatre 29 was constucted in the 1980's as a building truss manufacturing site. It has been completely reconfigred by volunteers as a fully-equipped community theater. There are microphones anad a sound system to play recorded music. Sound equipment can be used but arrangements must be made for the theater technician to be present. There is also a spotlight and specialized theatrical lighting system. This 100 seat community theater has padded seats on risers and front row folding seats. Additional seating for 20 can be accommodated. There is no kitchen.
