Cleghorn Lakes Wilderness

The Cleghorn Lakes Wilderness Area, 38,000 acres, is bounded by the 4,000-foot Bullion Mountains in the east to the 1,500-foot alluvial desert to the west. It has a wide variety of wildlife and desert plants. The dry lake beds are located less than an hour's drive northeast of Twentynine Palms on Amboy Road or Highway 62.
